Fresh Design

By adopting the new design language, across all platforms MusicSmart gains an easier-to-access search bar, deeper separation between content and navigation controls, and smoother animations and transitions throughout the app.

MusicSmart already uses many native controls, so adopting the new design language was relatively straightforward. I’ve tweaked toolbar buttons, context menu icons, a few other details here and there, and added new transition animations for navigating into items. I’ve also introduced icon animations that make the UI more fun and engaging in places like the Shazam view when displaying credits for songs playing around you.

New App Icon

A new icon for a new era! MusicSmart’s redesigned app icon, by the incredible Matthew Skiles, looks perfect in every theme: default, dark, tinted, and clear. It’s one of my favorite new additions to the app, and I love seeing it on my Home Screen.

Matthew also designed a new SF Symbol for the app icon, and I’m now using it in places like widgets and Control Center controls to make the app more easily recognizable. It really makes a difference!

Credits Summaries

MusicSmart gives you every detail behind your favorite songs. And now, with Credits Summaries powered by Apple Intelligence, you can get a streamlined, easy-to-read breakdown of its production credits.

MusicSmart’s iOS 26 update is all about refining the details and giving the app a fresh new look, from the very first thing you see, the Home Screen icon, to the subtle touches like animations and visual polish throughout the app. This release also introduces MusicSmart’s first AI-powered feature, hopefully the first of many made possible by Apple Intelligence. I’m excited about what’s ahead in future updates!
