What’s New in MusicSmart for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS 27
This release makes discovering the people behind the music easier than ever. Approachable AI explanations bring detailed credits to life, while Siri, Visual Intelligence, and expanded Live Liner Notes widgets offer new ways to explore a song or album wherever curiosity strikes.
Siri AI
A song playing nearby can spark curiosity about more than its title. With Siri, users can identify what they’re hearing and jump straight to its detailed credits in MusicSmart. Whether it’s a familiar voice, a standout instrumental part, or a production style that catches their attention, discovering the people behind the music now starts with a simple request.
Foundation Models
Behind every song is a collaboration, but a long list of credits doesn’t always tell the story clearly. MusicSmart uses AI to turn those details into an approachable explanation of who wrote, performed, and produced the music, and how others contributed. Listeners can quickly understand the people and roles behind a song, making it easier to appreciate familiar names and discover contributors they might otherwise overlook.
Visual Intelligence
A record sleeve or CD case can now be the starting point for discovering the people behind an album. With Visual Intelligence, users can scan its barcode to find the album in MusicSmart and open its detailed credits without typing a search. Whether browsing a record shop or revisiting their own collection, listeners can connect the music in their hands with the writers, performers, and producers who helped create it.
Extra Large Widgets
The new extra large portrait widget gives its credits more room on the Home Screen, revealing more of the people and contributions behind the music at a glance. Users can also explore additional insights directly from the widget.
Whether a song is playing nearby or an album is sitting on a shelf, MusicSmart helps listeners go beyond the title and artwork to appreciate the collaboration behind every recording.
